A Bran New Girl!

After 3 LONG years, Lauryn's hair was FINALLY long enough to donate to Locks of Love. We've trimmed Lauryn's hair a couple of times over the last 3 years but other than that, she hasn't had a haircut since she was 3 years old, and that was the first & only haircut of her life! 2 haircuts in 6 years... can you imagine?! Heidi Meyers, owner of Reflections in Cannon Falls, cut 10 inches of hair off on Saturday morning. Heidi separated Lauryn's hair into 4 ponytails, measured to make sure each one was at least 10 inches & then cut. Lauryn was pretty quiet throughout the process. Heidi asked if she was ready for short hair & she shook her head no. Heidi turned to me & said, "Well mom, what are we going to do?" I told her to chop it off! :) As Lauryn's hair began taking shape, you could see the excitement on her face. It was really cute! This morning as she was getting ready for school, she went into the bathroom to brush her hair and when she came out, she was soooo excited that was all she had to do to get ready. She didn't have to sit down with me so I could fight to get a brush through the snarels. She absolutely loves her new haircut! And Jamey & I think she couldn't be more adorable than she is now!!!

Our Homecoming King

These were taken at Homecoming Coordination last night. I know I'm a little bias, but doesn't Devon look handsome?!

When the school called & asked if Devon would be part of the festivities, Devon was pretty nervous. If he was nervous last night, it didn't show! He did great! While he sat on stage among the men, he kept smiling & waving & talking to last year's king & to the gentleman they crowned this year's king. It was really cute!

Hawaiian Day

As part of the Homecoming festivities, today is "Hawaiian Day". This is what my Hawaiian girls looked like when they walked out the door this morning.

Stay tuned for pictures of my nephew Devon tomorrow. He was asked to escort the Homecoming Queen nominations during Homecoming Coordination tonight. I can't wait to see him dressed up in his suite & tie!

First time baby-sitting

I baby-sat Cohen for the first time last Sunday afternoon. He's been kind of a stinker for DJ & Deena, especially at night, so they were a little nervous about bringing him over. He was a perfect angel! (Even if he wasn't, I wouldn't tell them that!) Can't wait until I can watch him again!

New pictures of JB

Bridget posted new pictures of JB in her photo room & I just had to share a couple of them. I can't believe how much JB has changed since he left MN! It makes me miss him more than I already do! I think my sisters (Jill & Deena) were surprised to see how hard it was for me to say goodbye to Bridget & JB. I don't think it surprised Bridget, after all she had witnessed it when I left them in Florida. McKenzie & Lauryn couldn't figure out why in the world I was crying so much...lol! Anyway, the 3rd picture of Jamey, JB & Cohen was taken just before we said goodbye. Jamey hasn't been much of a baby person since I've known him, but when JB was in MN & as soon as Cohen was born, he couldn't wait to get his hands on his nephews! I like the change in Jamey. I think its sweet!

Picture Day

Those of you that have known Lauryn since she was born, know she didn't have hair until she was 18 months old, and even then, she didn't have much! Lauryn first real hair cut was when she was 3!!! Can you imagine?! Lauryn's been growing her hair out to donate to Locks of Love for over a year now. I hoped her hair would be long enough to donate before her school pictures, but its not quite long enough yet. So this morning we went to Auntie Deena's so she could curl Lauryn's hair for her. (she does so much better than I do!) It turned out really cute! Thanks Deena!

First Day of School

You've asked, so here they are - First Day of School pictures! McKenzie's in 3rd grade & Lauryn's in 1st grade this year. McKenzie's teacher is Mrs. Andrews. Those of you that went to Randolph may have had Mrs. Andrews when you were in 3rd grade. Lauryn's teacher is Mrs. (Katie) Thielbar. Jamey & I absolutely adore Katie as a teacher & friend, so we couldn't be happier she's Lauryn's teacher this year. The girls were so excited the first day of school, they didn't even give me a kiss or hug before they hopped on the bus. I was crushed! ;) Now that school's in session, so are most of the girls' extra curricular activities, which means we're living in mad chaos again...lol! If we're not running to Just For Kix, then we're running to Girl Scouts, or to religion, etc. Aaaahhh, the joys of parenthood!
