Where do babies come from?

My dad came over for supper on Tuesday night. We were discussing Deena & her baby during dinner, when McKenzie interrupted & said, "Grandpa where do babies come from anyways? No one will tell me!" My dad was chewing when she asked, and oh my God, I thought he was going to choke & die! When he finished coughing, he looked at me & asked, "Kel??? McKenzie asked a question..." I looked at Jamey for help & when he just shrugged his shoulders I knew I wasn't getting any help from him. Before I had a chance to answer, Kenzie said "Let me guess? I'm too young to know & you'll tell me when I'm a little bit older." We ALL shook our heads & said "Yes!" in unison. :) I don't know if that was the right way to handle the situation, but that's how we did. I figure since she's only 8 years old, we have some more time before we have to sit down & talk about the birds & bees.

McKenzie has a book about the human body that shows all of the major components that makes us who we are. I overheard McKenzie telling Lauryn one day (this was a while back), "These are sperm & these are eggs. They come together to make a baby." So I guess the only thing I really need to explain is how they come together. :)
